Trinity Chapel | The Discovery Centre, London | Discovery Initiative

Discovering & Accomplishing Your Mission in Life

Brief description of the Vision

Discovery Project is an initiative of Trinity Chapel, London (Charity No: 1084529). It aims to educate, train, and facilitate groups of people from teenagers to adults, of all races, backgrounds, and colour, to discover their potential and purpose, thus finding their niche and role in the society.

Trinity Chapel’s mission is to develop leaders who will influence society. This vision is tied to the impact we make in our community, and as such, we have in the past worked, and continue to work with other organisations to do our bit to advance our society.

Some of our partnership initiatives are listed below

  • We collaborated with Feltham Chaplaincy Trust and YOI Feltham working with young offenders. Current status: Ongoing.
  • We teamed up with Belmarsh Prisons Chaplaincy to run a 7-week curriculum earlier this year.
  • We worked with the Peace Alliance to deliver the London week of peace in Newham.
  • We currently run a weekly feeding project in a local community in London called the Carpenters Café.
We have worked with the Emmanuel Youth Project (EYP) to run a course for teenagers & single parents on money issues, called “Does Money Matter?”
  • We have been very active in organising health check days in Newham in partnership with the Newham PCT and NHS; a project funded by the Big Lottery Fund.
  • We are an active member of Transform Newham, a Christian coalition in Newham set up to transform the community.
  • We are part of The East London’s Community Organisation (TELCO), a community-led group with representatives from other faiths, schools, universities, and charities. TELCO tackles common societal issues, such as crime, homelessness and living wage campaign.

We are presently awaiting the outcome of a major bid by Pecan to roll out community-based youth initiatives across 3 boroughs, namely; Newham, Barking & Dagenham, and Havering. If successful, we will be major stakeholders.
